Music has the ability to influence us in many ways. It makes us move. It makes us think and it can make us feel a certain way. For these reasons, Music Therapy meets physical, emotional, communication, cognitive and social goals through musical mediums including music/song listening, song writing, song discussion, improvisation and instruction. Due to music's substantial audience, music therapy caters for the infant, toddler, child, adolescent, youth through to the older adult experiencing compromised functioning in any of the above areas.
The Registered Music Therapist has training across many areas, including music skills, psychology, physiology, social/behavioural sciences and human development. Registered Music Therapists are bound to the AMTA (Australian Music Therapy Association) code of ethics.
As a registered music therapist, Claire works with clientele of various populations with ranging goals and needs. See Music Therapy Services
